RECONSTRUCTION OF 86TH STREET

Borough of Brooklyn, NYC
This project involved the removal and replacement of a 72″ trunk water main along with various other size mains. This complicated project involved accelerated work schedules and coordination between multiple agencies to work effectively in this congested area of Brooklyn.
DiFazio crews also completed all of the roadway reconstruction work. The project broke ground in the summer of 2007 and was completed in the spring of 2009.
STATION AVE
Owner: NYCDDC
Borough of Staten Island, NYC
The scope of work on this project included the excavation of a deep jacking shaft to facilitate micro-tunneling of 1000 feet to install a 48″ sewer. The tunnel was a vital component to provide the surrounding area with sanitary and storm sewers.
This, along with other intricacies, put this project at the forefront of the agencies project list. The project team was awarded 1st place at the 26th Annual NYC Commissioner Project Recognition Award Ceremony for their endeavor.
ELECTRICAL SUB-STATION IMPROVEMENTS AQUARIUM

DiFazio Industries was hired as the excavation contractor responsible for trenching, conduit installation, encasement manhole installation and final tie-in. DiFazio self-performed all aspects of the work, including final restoration as required.
INSTALLATION OF VARIOUS SIZE WATERMAINS

Borough of Brooklyn, NYC
DiFazio was the low bid contractor on this project which involved the installation of approximately 5 miles of various 8″, 12″ and 20″ ductile iron water main with appurtenances. DiFazio Industries self-performed all of the work on this project.
LENEVAR AVE

Borough of Staten Island, NYC
This sewer and road building project involved the construction of a state of the art outfall structure. The engineer utilized “BMP” (best management practices), to design storm water overflow systems that integrate with Staten Island’s naturally occurring Blue Belt system. This project set the standard by which all other BMP projects would be compared.

For over 20 years, the DiFazio companies have been a master contractor for Verizon’s various outside plant work including, but not limited to, controlled environmental manholes, geo-thermal well installation, conduit work, manhole refurbishment, FIOS support and emergency support services.
